TONGARIRO NATIONAL PARK
Established in 1887, the park is one of only 20 or so that holds double World heritage status. The first awarded in 1990 for natural landscape and the second awarded in 1993 for cultural landscape. The park is specular featuring some of New Zealands most contrasting landscape as it encircles the volcanoes of Tongariro, Ngauruhoe and Ruapehu.
Door to door transportation from your Taupo accommodation. Interesting commentary, plenty of photo opportunities (weather permitting), Mt Tongariro Craters flight (weather permitting), hiking in the park, beautiful landscape, waterfalls and mountain views (weather permitting).

The is an all day tour (8-10 hours). Departure times are flexible however to get the best out of the day, an early departure immediately after breakfast is recommended.
Bring comfortable walking shoes and a warm jacket. Hats are a must both in winter and summer and you'll need to bring money for lunch and other goodies like coffee, high tea or ice cream. Don't forget your camera.
With adequate clothing and equipment, you can enjoy the park at any time of year.
Layers of warm clothing are essential during the colder months but be aware that the weather within the National Park is changeable all year round.
Take sunscreen and sunglasses, summer and winter.
Before departing on a walk, we will check for up-to-date information on weather, volcanic activity and track conditions.
When packing for an adventure in the park, be prepared for all weather eventualities.
